Walking on Sunshine (Amik Oct 10)

The reason for the title is because of an awesome church tour that we did this last and I will actually just tell you since there is no point waiting.   Anyway, remember Daniel and Vanessa! The elect people we found just sitting at a park? Well, we did a church tour with them.   It was going to be Tuesday, but then they had to cancel and reschedule for the next day.  Anyway, our member present/ride had to cancel just two hours before the appointment.  So we had to bike about 35 minutes to the church.   Anyway we started to show them around, we used a new church tour app, and right after we showed the chapel and explained the leadership of the church, Bishop showed up.  We were using his keys to go around and he had meeting right after the tour, so he just showed up early.  Anyway, we showed them the high council room, where we do gospel principles, when the stake president walked in and introduced himself.  Then we went to the relief society room to show the font when President Dixon finished an interview with a missionary (we had interviews that day) walked out and introduced himself.    It was great,  and Daniel and Vanessa loved it. After that we read the Book of Mormon with them in the relief society room, they are on chapter 13 of 1 Nephi, were on then at least.

Also, this week we found a new investigator at the same park that we found Daniel and Vanessa, we have another lesson with him tonight.  Also, last Monday we we had a lesson with an apartment with family whose daughter is now on  a baptismal date we are also meeting with them tonight.  They moved from New Jersey into our ward a few weeks ago and we have been able to set up two lessons a week with them now.

Also Pres. Dixon shared this cool quote:
“Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on; you knew that those jobs needed doing and so you are not surprised. But presently He starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominably and does not seem to make any sense. What on earth is He up to? The explanation is that He is building quite a different house from the one you thought of - throwing out a new wing here, putting on an extra floor there, running up towers, making courtyards. You thought you were being made into a decent little cottage: but He is building a palace. He intends to come and live in it Himself.” (CS Lewis, Mere Chrisitanity)
I hope to be a really nice palace like Buckingham palace or that fancy one in Russia. Have a great week!
